THE DL'S ARE MAKING ME DO THE BL

The HDL's are too low...
The LDL's are too high.
My height is too low for my weight...
My weight is too high for my height.
So since the only thing that will solve all of the above problems is exercise I purchased The Biggest Loser Cardio Boot Camp a few months ago. I know there was a massive push for The Shred, but I just could not do it.
Two reasons:
1. I fancy myself a mini non - conformist
2. I was chicken - read too many blog posts about the pain.
I have been consistently (note C-O-N-S-I-S-T-E-N-T-L-Y) working out for about 3 weeks now. Today we made the jump to Level 2.
Hello - Jillian.
Now I have watched The Biggest Loser for the first time this season, and Jill, well she ain't nice.
However, on the BLCBC, she is sweet as pie. I know it is a trick to lure me into her web before she kicks my rear end.
I have entered into that lovely phase we as women know so well when the scale never moves. The clothes fit better, the profile looks slimmer but those darn numbers are NOT budging. You can not possibly plateau after 3 stinking weeks!
I will push on! I will hit play again and I will push through till the end.
I will let you know when the scale takes a nose dive.
Or I do.
Either way - one of us is going down!

A DAY IN THE LIFE...

of a HUNTING WIFE...

1. Acquire necessary equipment

2. Gather tools

3. Assist in assembly and orally instruct how to set timing device (aka read the directions)

4. Have your assistant open any and all gates

5. Claim to be a delicate flower so you don't have to pick up these

6. Have HH take a pic of a full feeder because you are entirely to short

7. Observe the wonder that is an automated feeder

and at the end of the day, allow your assistants to reap the reward of a good nap.

mor-D

So I am totally enjoying my study of Esther. I had tried to do it on my own this past summer. I do not recommend it. This is one of those series that you NEED the videos for. One of the points made last week that really stuck with me was about Mordecai, who I call "mor-d" 'cause we're tight like that. If you know the story, then you mor-d is Esther's cousin, and gets targeted by the evil Haman for refusing to bow before him (Esther 3). The point made was this,

"Mordecai did not slander, but he also did not kneel."

I am okay with the "did not kneel" part (can you say stubborn heifer), but the slander part, well that needs some work. I can run my mouth with the best of them.
You know what I mean. Someone wants you to do something you believe or flat out know is not right so you refuse. But do you keep you mouth shut? I know what I have done.

I can't believe he/she wants me to do that.
They have no sense of blah blah blah.
They call themselves a Christian? (just being honest here).

I could (and still can) get myself on a good ole high horse if I work hard enough. Actually, it does not take that much work.
Can you imagine the grace and dignity exhibited by mor-d while doing this. He says nothing bad about Haman, he just refuses to kneel.
Goes nicely with my reading of Titus last week. (Co-winky-dink- I think not).
Titus 2:3 - older women ... not slanderers...
Titus 3:2 - to speak evil of no one
You get the point.
I am going to be truthful with you. I am sitting here and in my mind's eye, I am completely in awe of the women and men who do this. Who can disagree with someone vehemently but do not slander. Oh how I would love to live like my life like that.
Good news is- I CAN.
Because why?
I CHOOSE.
Have a blessed weekend:)

COWBOY UP

Saddle up...

Our playground.

A happy little buckaroo...

A couple of busy little buckaroos

"I don't want to go fast. I don't want to go fast"

The savage beast needing to be tamed...

The savage beast taming us.

Another elusive savage in a moment of stillness.

JUMP ON OVER

Posed a question for you on Deliberately Delivered. Desperate to hear your responses. Click on the shackles, which are absolutely broken!

A LIVING EXAMPLE

I love "The Desert Song" by Hillsong (United). It speaks to my very soul and brings me to my spiritual knees (if not physical knees) every time. The first link is the story behind the song and the song itself. It is posted by Integrity music so I can only trust there is validity to it. Please watch. She is a living example of I CHOOSE.

This is the song with the words (because sometimes those Aussies are hard to understand:)). It is worth your time. Look at the words as they sing it. You will be blessed.

We choose today. Choose life. Choose to worship. Choose to speak truth. Choose to declare and rejoice and praise. Choose to believe His word, His will, and most importantly HIM!
(and this is for me more than anyone, just in case you were wondering)

FABULOUS FRIDAY

Great title right? I was hoping it would take me out of my hormone induced funk that is knocking at the door, no such luck yet.
Not much going on so I will tell you about bible study.
When we left our previous church, I knew I would need SOMETHING, some type of female fellowship, to get me through the next few months. Something consistent and valuable and vested in the Word. So I joined a summer study at one of the biggest Baptist churches in town. It took them all summer to figure out I did not go to church with them nor was I of the Baptist denomination.
Anyway, the class was mostly older (early 60's and up), meaning older than me, women. I had not been in a class like that in a long time and let me tell you it was wonderful. These women have years of experience not only with life but with the Lord Jesus and they love Him and His Word desperately!
Nobody became my BFF, and to them I was just Rhonda who came to study, but they were so nice and sweet and insightful. They blessed me to no end.
So this fall I planned to go to the study they were doing in the mornings, because frankly, I have not found my groove in our new church home yet, and I need the consistency of something!
Yesterday we did the session on "mean girls" from Esther and it was fantastic! Really spoke as to why we are mean girls or why we respond to mean girls as we do. It went right along with what Lisa McKay had spoken about in the Webinar by A Woman Inspired. Obviously it was meant for me. Funny how He works that isn't it? Ha Ha.
I have a dream and a desire of what I want to do for God. It is not happening yet. It may not happen at all. But I know that being a mean girl about it, being jealous of other women who are living out what I desire to do, is a sure fire way to kill it. As the enemy tries time and again to tell me,
You have nothing to offer.... What makes you any different....How could He use you....
I have to respond,
It is not about me.
God can do whatever He wants, however He wants to do it. It could come out of the clear blue and happen oh so fast or it could take years. His call. It is not about me and my timeline, and to be jealous, sincerely jealous and bitter, because He is using someone else is the mindset of a 2 year old. It was my toy I was going to play with it, it was my dream, I was going to do that.
Toddlers don't get trusted with very much. I don't want to be a toddler.
So in the waiting I will tell myself, it is not about me. I will push deeper into Him and pray steadfastly that I am ready when it does happen. Knowing full well that I won't be but He will. What I need to be is grounded in Him, solid in Him, and trusting in Him alone.
Have a great weekend! Be blessed! Enjoy your time in church this weekend! Enjoy the fellowship of the brethren!

THROUGH CAMO'D EYES

The Three Little Pigs through normal eyes:
The wolf is the villain and he is the one that should be shot.
The Three Little Pigs through a hunter's kid's eyes:
Mama when I get big I am gonna hunt those pigs down and shoot them and eat them. (Compliments of MC 2)

No black or white, only camo:)

KID SHELLEEN

Honestly the majority of this post is only going to be funny to my immediate family. Meaning my mom, my sisters, and dad if they can get him to read it.
I told you here how we grew up on westerns. Cat Ballou has always been one of our favorites. This is one of the best parts, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4L367Qs53xE. Watch this first before reading on.
Done?
(For those of you who have never seen this masterpiece, the candles are for a funeral, the casket is out of camera shot, the girl's dad has just been shot by the villain.)
Okay, now pair this with the fact that I had a candle burning in our bathroom. Why you say? I live with three Y chromosomes and can tell who has been in the bathroom by the lingering odor, THAT'S WHY!
Even my Pound Cake candle has to work itself nearly to death sometimes. You have Y's in your house, you understand.
Just got XX? You are probably totally grossed out and will never read again.
I am sorry.
We will miss you.
Back to the point.
Now having Cat Ballou in mind, imagine the fit of laughter I go into when I see MC 2 leaning over said candle, very focused, singing,
Happy Birthday to you
Happy Birthday to you
and then blowing out the candle.
Sisters, it almost had me on the floor I was laughing so hard. I thought if my dad could see this now!
The kid is a riot.
We went to the store yesterday afternoon. I thought it would be a great time to teach the boys some responsibility by having then carry out the bags. We had a total of 2 lunchables, some jalapenos, some grapes, a juice box, and apparently a kryptonite bag of Cheetos. MC 2 was requisitioned to carry the Cheetos bag. Which has a whopping weight of...8 1/2 ounces.
You would have thought they weighed a ton. He was dragging the bag along the ground, bemoaning how heavy it was, until he saw his way out - the buggy boy.
This polite young man was returning the buggy back to the store and headed our way. So what does my darling Hercules of a man do?
While the kid is still 30 yards away, he goes a little something like this,
HEY! HEY! I NEED THAT BUGGY! I NEED THAT BUGGY!
So we will be adding weight training to our day to day routine.
Right after we go over ABC's and try to count to 10.
On a different note, it is 3:50 in the morning so if the misspellings and grammatical errors are more than normal, be kind.

PROGRESS

Well, we made progress yesterday. All though BIL #2 was not nearly as impressed at my 1.2 pounds of weight loss as I was, which to me is major progress, he did work very hard to make this happen.

That's right people. I have a plywood 1/2 of a floor and I could not be happier!
I thought we had reached the pinnacle of progress when I found these:

Yep. They don't work - scent wise. I was sorely disappointed. Then I remembered I was 1.2 pounds lighter and all was well.
The rest of my kitchen is as the kids would say " a hot mess!"

Speaking of hot messes, here are couple of 'em:

Have a great weekend!

SCOOCH ON OVER

Just posted on Deliberately Delivered page a topic I would love to hear feedback from you guys on. Just click the chains on the sidebar.

IT'S MY CHOICE

Today will be a day I get to choose.
Wish I had a great post for you.
Maybe some cool giveaways.
Heck I would even settle for some really great pictures.
But the really great pics on my camera won't email to my laptop.
I have nothing to giveaway.
All I can tell you about is my trip to the dentist, A-G-A-I-N. And that I get to go back in 2 weeks. And MC 2 goes back in two weeks.
Kitchen floor still a mess. BIL #2 coming over today so we can work on it.
Not to mention there is a motorcycle in my garage. We won't even go there.
And I don't like what the scales have been telling me.
I could say they lie.
Sadly I think they are brutally honest.
So today I get to choose. Still in the process of deciding. I will decide how the day goes. How I will respond and what I will say and do. I choose Who gets the glory in my day and Who I will praise. I decide if I will battle the flesh, in more ways than one, and I will decide my attitude for the rest of the day.
So today while everyone else is still sleeping I will decide.
I will choose Christ for He has chosen me.

* Update - I chose to step on the scale this am per my usual Thursday routine. Ignorance is not bliss. Accoriding to the spewer of absolute truth, I had lost 1.2 pounds. PRAISE THE LORD! Now see, I could have chosen to NOT step on the scale and spent all day in a funk about my weight. Even 1.2 pounds (less you forget the 0.2 cuz it MATTERS!) gives me hope and is a sign of progress. We choose!

I SHOULD HAVE BEEN A DENTIST...

So I took MC 2 to the dentist office to get a prized silver tooth. We have done this with MC 1 many, M-A-N-Y times. They have to be sedated. MC 1 gets very emotional, and sleeps, a lot! He mellows out in the office and watches TV.
MC 2 ....whole new ball of wax. The boy is cut from a different cloth. Mellow ran as far away from him as possible. If that tongue came out once (a sure sign that meanness is about to ensue) it came out 50x in that office. The worst was going to the potty. I am sure the people outside heard me saying loudly "IN THE WATER! GET IT IN THE WATER!"
Let's just say the law of reflection works well for projectile liquids as well as waves. I was doing a tap dance trying to NOT get wet.
God was good... all went well and MC 2 is better.
I do have a prayer request for you. MC 1 needs a BFF. Please join me in prayer for that for him. Breaks my heart when he has his emotional breakdowns. So hard for mom:(
Well, I go to finish off the great root canal of '09 tomorrow.
Hope you all have a great day!
Love ya!

A BOY NAMED SUE

Somethings are just wrong.
A boy named Sue is a fine example.
So is MC 1 going to school and telling everyone he got drunk.
We have only been there 2 weeks... rumors like that need to wait at least a month.
To explain, when we visit our oh so friendly dentist she has to give the boys a sedative before beginning reconstructing their mouths like Jaws from James Bond.
The sedative makes them very loopy and emotional (aka drunk).
Now I take full responsibility because when I was telling HH about it I said it made him drunk.
Connect the dots and we have MC 1 telling his new friends he got drunk. Twice.
So I insisted that he go back today and clarify, because apparently these little guys have a knowledge of alcohol that is way before their time and immediately went to beer.
It's kinda like the time he told his Kindergarten teacher that we threw dead cats in the woods. True but completely out of context.
Apparently these little guys also like to discuss the culinary skills of their parents as well. Except mine. While all the other boys were singing the praises of their mama's and daddy's steak and salad and what have you, mine is raving on about daddy's steak and nanny's green beans. Mom did not even make the cut. Mom is the best at stopping at the donut store. She does that very well!
Ya'll have a great weekend! Safe Labor Day!

3:30 IN THE MORNING

The trip to the dentist went so good we have decided to go back 2 more times.
Fun stuff.
Between that and the reality of how much the kitchen floor could cost and the major disarray of my house has me looking over the edge of a pretty good little funk. Plus I am up at 3:30 because someone said their tummy hurt.
All righty, now that I have complained and been a tad bit in the flesh, let me now focus on the solution to my problems - Jesus.
He will get me through all of it. He will provide when there is nothing else. He can show favor in all my stuff. Amen and so be it.

HURRY UP AND WAIT

We are in a holding pattern so sis when you read this pass the info along to BIL.
We went last night to look at floors. I already had in my mind what I wanted.
It did not matter.
That is not true.
I did get HH away from the linoleum.
Trying to put down one big piece of that would be a nightmare,
and introduced him to the world of locking flooring:)
Then it started.
Hubs had his own ideas.
I mean what was I thinking.
I totally did not think how the floor would go with the wall decor in my living room.
Because apparently it is the determining factor for how we decorate the rest of the house.
Anyway, he picked what he liked (which is very nice and I like it as well) and OF COURSE it is special order and will take two weeks to get here. If you know HH then it comes as no surprise that it is special order and more complicated. It is just how the man works.
So today I will get footage and order and then I will wait.
Honestly it is probably a good thing- kinda spreads out the cost.
MC 2 goes to the dentist for the first time today.
Praying for a good report.
He is not under the impression that silver teeth are cool yet.
Have a great Wednesday!

WHILE WE ARE AT IT...

I had limited man child knowledge until I got married and had my own. Having no brothers apparently shelters you from the thinking that comes along with the Y chromosome.
HOWEVER, having all sisters gets you all brother-in-laws, and having a hubs myself, I am quickly learning.
My goal Sunday was to get the floor out Sunday and see the damage.
I thought that was the common goal.
I did not know I would have to defend that goal and keep giving constant reminders.
BIL wants to rip out the cabinets.
HH is starting a new project under the sink.
They both decide there are things in the current bathroom they want to rip out.
There is discussion of redoing ALL the plumbing.
It goes on and on.
Then we reach the straw that broke the camel's back. It started like this-
HH : Hey BIL (brother in law) while you are here and we have everything ripped out, think we can rip out the windows...
BIL: Oh sure man, and put in French Doors? I mean that is the thing to do. While you have everything ripped out fix all you can. Can you afford it? French Doors are expensive.
NOW THEY LOOK TO ME
ME: Uhm no. I would like to pay for the house not just fix it up for the next owner when they REPO it!
I think my biting sarcasm stomped all over their remodeling buzz.

I am playing the waiting game right now. Waiting for the floor to dry, waiting for HH to pull out the rest of the baseboards, waiting.
While I was at it I planned paint schemes with my mom. It will be a slow process and I will get you pics as we go along.
Excited aren't you?
Well since I am no longer employed this is what you have to look forward to.
Get used to it.
It can only get better!
