So it appears now there is video of child stars of the 80's opposed to Kirk Cameron. While I watched Kirk on Piers Morgan, I never heard a single profane word or a single comment that was hate filled. What I heard was a man who stood by his convictions with integrity and composure. Just reading the clips from the video, it does not appear the same can be said there. As a non-believer, you don't have to agree with Cameron, no one expects you to, but at least have the common decency to disagree with a tad bit of respect. The same measure of respect you seem to demand from him. As a Christian, sin is sin, at any level, and we had need to stop glossing over it. From lies, to adultery, to gossip, to slander, to busybodies....sin is sin and we are all guilty. Myself included. No matter how we justify, no matter how we try to explain away, sin is sin. The good news is we can be forgiven. Jesus Christ is the only way to forgiveness and redemption. There is no other. To pretend otherwise is to deceive ourselves and those lost to this world. Sin does not have to reign in our lives. We must call it out. We must confess and fall at the grace-feet of Christ Jesus. There the ground is equal to all. We must turn from it. No excuses. Stand up and turn around. When we fall again, His love allows us to stand up and turn again. The victory is ours in Christ Jesus alone.
While someone will most likely say something about the plank in my eye, please know I see it all to well and am working to remove it. Also know that the rest of the verse does talk about removing the speck in your brother's eye.
